Since its appearance on the market in 1993, VegeRen has been found to replace bovine rennet in both cheese and junket making. VegeRen is well reported to be suitable to make both cottage and hard cheeses. It can also be used very successfully to make haloumi type cheeses which are traditionally made using sheep or goats milk; and paneer which is very much enjoyed in Asian cooking." It works!
Bought this to make mozzarella at home, it worked out well, nice texture... Flavour was okay, but it had nothing to do with this product, I needed to add more salt...

Very Disappointing
Heated my full fat whole milk, counted out the required drops as I added them to the warmed milk. Not a sign of curds forming, even after 16 hours. Have to throw the milk away. In the past I've used Epsom Salts, lemon juice & real rennet. All worked, some better than others, but I never had a complete failure before.

Works Well.
Works very well in home cheese making. I love the fact that there's no animal cruelty involved.

Does not work
Used 10 drops (how big is a drop???) per pint of whole milk. Nothing. So I used another 10 drops. Two hours later, still nothing. :/

Works rapidly
Seems to work a lot better than animal rennet - very fast acting to make junkets. Brilliant.

Excellent but only works at 32C
Tried the first time and it was excellent. However tried again at 40C and it did not work. Make sure that the milk is 32C before applying.

This Rennet makes the most wonderful junket
It is so easy to use, very simple instructions and delicious with grated nutmeg.
