Works well to clean mushrooms

I bought this hoping it would make brushing and cleaning chanterelle mushrooms a bit easier. It does do the job but the bristles are just a touch too stiff and can tear the mushroom up, especially when used on a wet mushroom under the tap. With careful technique it works fine, but wish it were just a touch softer.

I love mushrooms, a little obsessively. When I cook a dish, I 99% of the time add mushrooms to it. And not just a teeny 8oz pack...like 2 of the 16oz packs. That's a lot of mushrooms to clean...pain in the butt. And I hate using water on them because it might speed up cleaning time, but the mushrooms absorb so much water doing that and even if the water cooks out, the mushrooms are just better, taste and texture, when you dry clean them...but then not using water and trying to wipe dirt off with a papertowel or similar is just so slow and aggravating - maybe you can handle that for an 8oz box, but for 32oz+ of mushrooms?! Nope. Enter this little guy...OMG! It has cut my mushroom prep time in half easily, maybe even more. I can clean them totally dry most of the time, and if the dirt is heavy or stubbornly stuck, I can just get the bristles wet, wipe the excess water on a towel, and then brush the mushroom successfully while only getting it a tiny bit wet without compromising the cook of the shroom. I can't believe I went this long without it. I also find it fits very comfortably in my hand...I'm not dropping it constantly or having my hand cramp up trying to hold it. I primarily use it for white button mushrooms or baby bellas as this is what I have in my stores, but I don't see why it wouldn't work just as well on other varieties. And I rarely leave reviews, but I just love this little guy so much that I had to. You should totally buy this if you ever use mushrooms...so worth it.

I only buy plain old white button mushrooms and it’s perfect for those.

This brush was used to clean about 30 pounds of mushrooms and it worked really good for a small hand, very uncomfortable for a large hand

Would have been better if the company added a hole in the white lip so brush could be hung to dry. Not hard to add though
