Harley Davidson TC88 OLDER Inner Cam Bearing Installer & Puller for Twin Cam 88

Works just like it should. Invert the outer puller housing, compress the end, insert into bearing, loosen, flip the outer, insert tension rod and pull. Bearings come out quickly and easily. The installer plate works great. My only complaint is the length of the included thumb screws... way too long, they bottomed out long before the plate was secure against the case. A couple of 1/4" nuts solved the issue. I'll wait to do another before cutting to a length that works better. Nicely made, simple and the operation really doesn't require explanation

Easy to use for both removal and installation. Solid well made pieces. Worked on my 2006 Road King twin cam 88.

Not only are they made here, they were much more reasonably priced than similar tools from other manufacturers. If I were doing this alot, I think I'd like a different style bearing puller that supports the end. But this worked just fine, and the bearing installer worked great. You can also use the support plate to set-up your magnetic base on a dial indicator (this is a different tool, not included) if you're checking pinion shaft runout.

I bought this tool to use when installing an S&S cam up grade kit and it worked flawlessly. The prospect of removing the old needle bearings from inside the case was a nightmare to me. I could see all sorts of problems developing. However, the puller worked like a champ. The old bearings came out in reusable perfect condition. The installer set the new bearings in perfectly straight and to the proper depth. It took just minutes to complete the job. There is one minor issue....... there is no documentation what so ever. So you learn how the tool works by study and reasoning. With any sort of documentation this tool would get my highest rating.

I used a hose clamp to tighten the remover to insert into old bearings. Then removed to expand fingers. Would of liked if the installer adapter freewheeled on the bearing end. It just screws onto a bolt but i worked fine. Just use a lot of motor oil on install

There are 2 tools included. A puller and an installer. The puller worked excellent, almost too easy, but the installer was horrible. I must have got a dud. The backing plate would not line up correctly with the screw holes in the engine. The thumb screws were utterly useless and would only go in about half way and finally broke while trying to press the bearings, stripping the threaded holes in the case. That will need to be tapped The bolt holes that the main pressing bolt would not line up with correctly with the holes. So epic failure! I will have to try another tool or take it to a shop to get them pressed.

The right tool for the job for a good price. The only downside is that there were no instructions. But that's ok, real men never read them anyway. ( Hint: The U notch/cutout should be on the top when mounting the plate to your case)
