Manhattan Prep Gmat Number Properties

The book is quite short, you'll get through it in a couple of days (or hours even!), but to help with retention you may want to read it a few times. The brevity of the book is a help in this regard, reviewing a topic takes only a moment to find and extract the information you're looking for, even in the Kindle version. This is something I've found a bit frustrating in larger eBook study guides. It has definitively helped me improve my number properties scores on the practice tests (Of which there are 6 included) such that I'm now consistently getting questions right of the 600 to 700 point difficulty level. I found that I pretty much knew all the topics in the book but I hadn't understood them well enough to apply the knowledge to the GMAT questions. Going through the content gave me a different approach to the topics which has helped me better understand and internalize the concepts. These different approaches have also helped me attack the questions differently In fact, because this book helped me get a jump on the Number Property GMAT question type, I picked up books 1, 2 and 4 to help me improve those area's also. I bought each of them on Kindle since they were such good value. Which brings me to my next point, the online content. When you buy any single Manhattan book you get their question bank for that book and access to 6 practice tests, among a few other things. If you've also bought the GMAC Official Guides (OGs) then there's a PDF available listing which questions in the OGs fall into which category. This has not been updated for the 2016 OGs yet (July 2015) but is good for the 2015 and 13th edition OGs. To get access to the online content you create an account on www.manhattanprep.com and email your Amazon receipt, along with your login email for the site, to their support desk ... even for Kindle purchases. Note that you only get the 6 practice tests once, for each subsequent book you only get the specific question banks and not more practice tests. I'd happily recommend this book to those studying for the GMAT particularly those needing to improve on their Number Properties questions.

I love this book, the only thing stopping me from giving it more stars is that it doesn't provide enough problems. GMAT Guide is good for that but doesn't cover these topics nearly as well. Princeton Review was also fabulous for coverage and extra problems.

The Manhattan GMAT quantitative guides are great for reviewing or just flat out learning the quant concepts tested on the GMAT. Don't let the thinness of the books fool you; they efficiently pack in alot of material and do not pad the books with lots of practice questions created by them. It's far better to work off of Official Guide questions, and each Manhattan GMAT guide has a handy list of all OG questions subdivided into Problem Solving & Data Sufficiency, and further subdivided according to the concept tested. There is an additional problem set of the most challenging OG questions spanning all concepts. I am decent, but rusty at math, and after using a couple of the Manhattan GMAT quant guides, was able to improve my quant score from high 40s on practice tests to 51 on the real thing! I can't recommend these books enough.

The content of this guide was very helpful to me in preparing for the GMAT, but I was even more impressed with Manhattan's level of customer service. I learned that purchase of this guide includes a 6 month access to their online CAT tests and Number Properties question bank. I did not know how to access that material online, but I was able to call and speak with someone on a Saturday morning, who told me what I needed to do. I forwarded them my amazon receipt and they granted my account access within minutes.

This was the last book that I read from the Manhattan series in my prep for the GMAT and it was as solid as the other math books. I think the math sections were more valuable than the verbal sections and the Manhattan system and I feel this book keeps up the trend. There are a few "a-ha" moments in this book that really explain the number properties well. I would recommend this specific book and this whole series to anyone preparing for the GMAT.

This and all the other Manhattan GMAT guides were really helpful in helping me prep for the GMAT. My colleagues had recommended them over other guides and I continue to do the same after getting the score I needed on my first try.

In the appendix of this book there is a section explaining how to do the data sufficiency problems on the gmat. I would suggest reading the appendix first, because most practice problems in this book center around data sufficiency. I didn't know to expect this, so I found this strategy guide frustrating at times.

Easy to follow. Wish it had more practice questions and not just refer to the OG. Nonetheless, it was a good review!

I had scored 690 in my last GMAT attempt. After studying this book (and nothing more than this book), my score went up to 720. 6 Points more in the Quant! Really good! It is also fair to say that my weakest point was the type of problems "is x odd or even". That is why this book was so helpful.

Pragmatic and practical, the Manhattan Test guide never loses focus on skills that need to be gained when preparing for GMAt. It does this with lots of examples for us to learn.

If you're having a hard time visualizing the concepts of number properties on the GMAT then you should get this book. It explains the foundations of number properties very clearly.

Tries to get you to think in a certain way which is recommended for the GMAT. The last two chapters are quite helpful if you're looking to break into that 90th percentile area.

Good explanation of concepts with lots of relevant examples.Must buy for GMAT prep.Kindle delivers this in a cost effective way.
