Spotty Indoor Dog Potty Replacement Grass

Eureka!!!! My dog is a mess... literally, she pooped and peed on my leather sofa, fur carpet, living room floor, bedroom carpet, bathroom rug, and even bed.. you name it, she probably would of done it!! I was so miserable that I was in my wits end... I bought her those grid pad and put a newspaper over it, she sometimes goes on it but sometimes she just forgets and goes on something like a sofa. I work from 6am-3pm so I am not available to walk her in the afternoons. so I figured she likes to use mats a lot, it reminds her on the grass feeling.. I have been research nonstop on amazon and even lowes... what is the best type of material that similar to grass-like feel??? I didn't like those plastic hair like grass because they just fall off (dog will eat it) and looks like they retain the smell.. not as easy to wash etc... I came across this mat. I like that there's holes, no hair like grass, and soft... The night I received it, I put it over the grid and allow my dog to sit on it, eat on it, do tricks on it, lay on it... everything to make her feel that its safe and comfortable. This morning 5am. She jumped off my bed.. I followed her... I see her sniffing on the mat...I said the magic words "Go pee pee" And it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!! you have to put it on a high traffic area. I put it right in the living room in the middle. so she can get used to using it first then eventually move it to the bathroom or better place. Maybe premature excitement for me. but you seen how miserable I was.. with her constant acting out and defiant behavior. so I really hope this can solve my problems... will keep you updated

After 2-1/2 years of using an indoor potty system with the fake grass, I was to my wits' end with the constant washing, the grass coming out, and the mats (I rotated 3) still retaining an obnoxious odor. I saw this and thought to give it a try. Wow. What a difference! It came flat, so no problems with it being rolled. It was a large piece, but easy to cut with a scissors, so I cut it in two to fit my grate system (under which is a puppy pad). My 5-year old chi, Betsy, didn't "get" it at first, and used the floor next to it. However, we "worked" on training with it and within a couple days she has now taken to it. YES! The stinky, shreddy fake grass mats are rolled up and in the garbage. What a joy to do that. :) These mats are coiled pieces of plastic so will be easy to rinse off and then even throw in the machine. The trick to the transition is working with your dog....work, and don't give up. It's worth it!

After years of washing artifical turf style mats on top of my dog potty, I tried this. What an improvement! No more poop sticking to the turf everywhere, it sits on top of the weave for easy pickup. It doesn't reek of urine like the turf mats (I've tried rinsing them, bleaching them, washing them in the washing machine, they always end up reeking) because it doesn't have a fabric backing weave like regular turf requires to anchor the tufts. No tufts means no pieces of turf coming loose and ending up everywhere after every cleaning. Our dog is not very picky, she will use anything that seems like a designated potty area, so your dog may be put off if they demand the turf feel (which isn't exactly like realistic grass anyway, but hey). Comes soaked with an attractant scent, no idea if that makes any difference at all as our dog has had no objection to any variant of potty "turf." It can be easily cut to size with regular scissors with no problems, so don't worry about sizing exactly. Just order a bit larger than you need and cut to fit.

This is a great product. My toy poodle has been using it for over four years now. The grass is plastic that does not allow mold to form. Some bad reviews claim it is inconvenient the grass does not attach to the base and the dog can shew it, it is true. However, I trained my dog since day one to use it. It took me about one full month for the dog to learn to use it correctly and consistently during emergencies when we are out of home or when it is rainy or it is too cold outside. For all other times, my dog goes out. I believe the success of all of these accessories are related to proper pet training. It is easy to wash with hose. This is my second grass replacement in over four years.

Looks and is as described as well as the customer feedback which I always read before ordering a product no matter who or where I order it from. I read a lot of comments about " it was all wrinkled and took a long time to flatten out " guess what, you saved a lot of money, get over it, mine was hardly that and it is a good material. It works way better than that imitation grass stuff that has no drainage. If your dog doesn't like it then you don't know how to relate to animals!
