I didn't measure but it probably has about 3/4" to spare which is nice, makes installation a little easier. Lock seems decent and the rubber cap is a nice touch, hopefully it holds up throughout the seasons. UPDATE: Nearly a year later the product is holding up well. The finish has dulled and the knurling is rusting a little bit, but the lock works as new and the rubber cap is still holding up well (no cracking, rotting, etc.). I do wish there was a groove on the locking end to help hold the retention loop for the rubber cap because it tends to slide down to the end and makes it a little more difficult to replace the cap. I would still definitely recommend this product. Review: Fits a Class V 2.5" Hitch - The truck is new, the hitch is new, and the lock has not received any wear and tear to comment on. Looks great new. The key is easy to operate. The dust cap fits snug. I like the black color. I like the way both ends are tapered somewhat the same. Gives it a balanced look. Most importantly it is rated for 32k. The hitch I own is rated at 16K. Towing max for the truck it is used on is 18.5K. I will never hit those numbers but good to know because I didn't purchase this lock just for looks. Recommend. ## Features - KEYED RECEIVER LOCK AND LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY: Provides a high-security locking mechanism for protecting trailers and towing equipment backed by a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty - FITS CLASS V RECEIVER HITCHES: Designed for compatibility with heavy-duty towing applications - MACHINE FORGED CHROME STEEL: Engineered for extreme durability and resistance against cutting or prying - WEATHER-RESISTANT COATING: Protects against rust, dirt, and harsh weather conditions - PIN SIZE 5/8” WITH 3-1/2” SPAN: Ensures a precise and secure fit for a variety of hitch receivers ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00J0ABS5M | | Batteries | 1 Unknown batteries required. | | Best Sellers Rank | #187,262 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #262 in Towing Hitch Locks | | Brand | Trimax | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars (1,815) | | Date First Available | February 28, 2014 | | Item Weight | 15.8 ounces | | Item model number | T5Black | | Manufacturer | Trimax | | Manufacturer Part Number | T5BLACK | | Model | T5Black | | Product Dimensions | 7 x 3.25 x 3.25 inches | ## Images ![TRIMAX T5 Black Receiver Lock, 5/8" Pin, 3.5" Span - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31jjUtFYq5L.jpg) ![TRIMAX T5 Black Receiver Lock, 5/8" Pin, 3.5" Span - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61SlfGx74hL.jpg) ![TRIMAX T5 Black Receiver Lock, 5/8" Pin, 3.5" Span - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71zqahGS8xL.jpg) ![TRIMAX T5 Black Receiver Lock, 5/8" Pin, 3.5" Span - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71NYERMOXsL.jpg) ![TRIMAX T5 Black Receiver Lock, 5/8" Pin, 3.5" Span - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81wlKZw15xL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fit my 2016 4Runner perfectly with length to spare *by J***E on November 28, 2015* Fit my 2016 4Runner perfectly with length to spare. I have seen and used many tow hitch pins working in the RV towing business. This one checks all the boxes when it comes to a good reliable locking pin. I like that the key only needs to be turned a quarter turn to release the lock. The weatherproof cap keeps out the grit and moisture. I purchased this pin to tow a 30ft travel trailer and a 5x10 covered trailer. Many miles later, pin shows only slight wear at the contact/stress points, and only the paint/coating has worn off ... the metal is fine. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.eg/products/10373561-trimax-t5-black-receiver-lock-5-8-pin-3-5](https://www.desertcart.com.eg/products/10373561-trimax-t5-black-receiver-lock-5-8-pin-3-5) --- *Product available on Desertcart Egypt* *Store origin: EG* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
