Initially, bought a bowler with a well-known name that even Nordstrom carries. It arrived floating in a large box with just a plastic bag. The crown was crushed like someone put their fist in it. maybe the packer thought it was hilarious? Anyway, I had to ship it back besides the construction looked like a theater prop -- not seriously made.Looking at my options I noticed that a Levine Hat was for sale. I googled them and found out that the 3rd generation was its owners PLUS they shipped their bowlers in a hat box of sorts so that it arrived double boxed. Attention to details means that they are also concerned with quality. The price was perfect, too. The Brits want 4-6 times the price for a hat like that.I don't normally wear hats well but this certainly fit my face and character. Thanks, Levine Hats for existing!

The hat is excellent, looks great, and makes me feel great, what more could you want? oh yah it also ships in a protective box that ensures the hat keeps its shape and doesn't get damaged in shipping. I wish other sellers would do that when shipping hats. I am very pleased with my purchase

Sizing a hat via mail order is always difficult regardless how accurately you measure your head. This is a really nice hat, but I had to return the original order for resizing. Bowlers fit differently than most hats, but in my experience, I found that the measured hat size was accurate. Do not pay attention to the small/medium/large designations. I typically wear a medium yet I measure in at 7 1/4 (which is a large in this style of hat). The medium was way too small. The 7 1/4 fit fine. The hat is of good quality but a little bit stiffer than I like in a dress hat. I prefer a slightly softer feel to a hat (more like a felt fedora).

Sorta good hat. I am a hat wearer. I usually buy Stetson hats but a Stetson Bowler sells for around $250 dollars. My 4x Stetson cowboy hat was only $168 so I looked for a medium quality bowler. There are none, I could find just theater quality hats which mean you don't want to be seen up close in them. Good for Halloween etc. This hat was not that but in fairness the price was only a 5th of a Stetson so I have a work hat now instead of a dress hat.This hat came in a shipping bag! They couldn't even see fit to put it in a box! I mean even an Amazon box! But it was a stiff hat and had only a few dents and twists to it. I have a hat steamer to fix it but if you don't be aware you may get a hat that needs some tweaking. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the hat as a 4. It is made of decent materials but the fit and finish are lacking. The lining is one of the best parts of the hat though and I have no complaints there.If all you want is to dress up for an evening and add a hat to top you off this may be a good choice. But if you are a hat person and want a quality hat or even a mid range hat, this doesn't even make it to mid grade but for under a hundred dollars it is decent. That is if it isn't squashed in shipment. My hat is off to UPS for getting mine here with only a dented crown as I think the brim was messed up at the factory.

I purchased a hat from the Levine Company and enjoyed wearing it out and making a rather fun, (if somewhat dated) fashion statement. The people around me all wanted to try it on, friends were jealous, and it seemed most everyone was talking about my look, which was both flattering and a bit embarrassing.By the end of the night, I found the hat wearing a bit tight for my head, and I wrote the company to ask if there would be some give if I continued to wear it, and by the next morning a fast, friendly person had given me some great advice and promised that if the hat didn't fit better in a month that I was more than welcome to return it for the next size up.Using a few tips online as well, the hat both fit well, and has been a constant companion for all of today, and I am currently working into it, so that the fit is better.I can't begin to speak highly enough for praise of the company, it's products, and the service they've provided. While I am not the most socially aware person, being noticed for making a bold and fun statement with just a simple hat was a rather uplifting experience for me.Who would have thought a simple change of attire does THAT?

I had been in the mood for getting a hat and after watching the History Guy's discussion on the Bowler (Cokes), I decided that was the hat I wanted. After checking out various reviews on Amazon, I decided on the Levine and was not disappointed. It is a great hat. The only issue I have had is that XL hat is slightly loose on my 23.5 inch head. But 1/2 a sheet of paper towel has resolved that issue until I get some hat tape delivered. Thanks again for a wonderful product.

This is an absolutely beautiful hat. I thought so when I was comparing the photos against other hats, but in person is even better. The hat is well made and shipped with care. This is replacing my old daily wear hat that time has finally claimed. I get a lot of compliments on it. The only thing I can think of that was a little disappointing was the hat size I ordered. I followed the chart provided and ordered accordingly. The size hat is little on the big side. That is probably due to the measurement of my head was just over the largest medium and just in the smallest large measure. If your head measurements fall in similar areas on the chart I would think to go with the smaller of the two options. I was able to modify my hat with no permanent changes to fit firmly on my head. I could not recommend this hat or hat manufacturer more.

I love hats in general but this immediately became my new favorite. The instant it arrived I had to try it on. It's really comfortable on my head; it fits me perfectly even with internet "hope it fits" sizing. I like the construction as well. It's sturdy enough for daily wear and still pliable enough to fit right, stay on, and feel nice. How did I not discover y'all before? I'll be back.
