Not sure how to turn it off before entering** A: They are not what I would call a door stop when you are out as you won't be able to get in. You could leave them a little way away so when door opens you can get in stop alarm It stops door dead. I use them when I want to have door open on jar so dog can get in and out of someone pushes door ito open it , it will stop and alarm will go of. **Q: Can you wedge this inside a gate as there is too big a gap in the bottom?** A: These are really suited for internal doors or inside external doors when you are at home i.e. when in bed. If you try to wedge the unit in a gate the alarm will activate as soon as unit is squeezed. **Q: Can it be placed outside the door to detect someone opening the door from inside ?** A: Definitely, if your door opens outwards, then it will work as long as no one has nicked it from outside **Q: My door has the rubber gasket worn, so it doesn't hold the door so tight. Could a wind that could slightly move the door trigger the alarm?** A: Usually slightly move of door will not trigger alarm. Max. Sensitivity setting maybe too much if door rattles with wind, post man, etc. Less sensitive setting avoids nuisance tripping.
