Rain-Bird Controller Indoor Outdoor Lawn Irrigation Sprinkler Timer ESPME3 (+ WiFi + 3 Modules)

We have 19 sprinkler stations in our yard, and a 14-year-old Rain Bird timer that was still working well. However, I decided to upgrade to a Wifi-enabled timer for the easy user interface, and the ability to have the sprinkler times adjusted automatically based on weather. I marked all the wires carefully, and did the exchange myself. Fortunately it worked well the first time. The user interface is fairly straightforward, and programming the stations was easy.The timer itself only comes with the ability to run four separate stations, so I bought three 6-station modules to expand the capacity to 22 stations, and also the LNK WiFi module to enable the WiFi features. The reception of the LNK module is fairly weak (even relative to my iPhone) but the timer has worked fine nonetheless. It automatically downloads weather information and adjusts each station’s watering time accordingly.Another commenter was unhappy that the timer can’t be turned off via the Rain Bird app. While that is true, it can be turned off for 14 days at a time via the app using the “rain delay” feature in the app. Or it could be completely deactivated by simply not scheduling any start times for the watering program(s).Rain Bird’s webstore was sold out of the timer, and their customer support rep suggested Amazon. I bought the timer, the 3 expansion modules, and the LNK WiFi module as a package from Sprinkler Parts Wholesale through Amazon. The items were shipped promptly and Jamie was very responsive to my questions via email. They are an excellent seller.

Easy to set up, modular wiring makes connections easier, plug in WiFi module better than integral because you can get another one if it ever fails. App is user friendly and has greatly simplified my management of watering from week to week. NO Complaints and I am not easy to please.

I'd give this 5 stars if the wi-fi was a better. I have a landscaped garden which is about the size of a football field. It has various paths and plants requiring differing watering conditions. The flexibility of programming makes control of different areas/zones very manageable. You can run 4 programs to 22 stations. You can set days for the four programs and watering times for each station. It also has manual watering capability. A rain gauge is easily added which prevents watering on "rain days". It can be set to automatically adjust for seasonal variations (more water in the summer, less in the winter). Best and weakest feature is the wi-fi. It is great to be able to stand at a zone and turn it on and off with your cell phone/wi-fi while adjusting a sprinkler head. There is only one weak point. The wi-fi range is limited and spotty. Once you have found where to stand in your yard to get wi-fi reception with your cell phone, it becomes manageable.

The irrigation time is working perfectly. The fact this contains a test connection for the control units makes the installation and maintenance simple and fast. Only problem has been that the WIFI module doesn't connect to the WIFI system - despite the fact that the module is about 3 feet away from an AT&T Fiberoptic system that performs at 500+ Mbps (usually 625) and provides same signal strength at the installation site as my signal tester.

I have front and back big landscaping. Wifi work the best I can even use it from work it connect with no problems ..

Great product easy setup and the ability to add additional stations is a plus. I've had a few wifi resets but other than that the app feature and access has been great!

We are amazed that we can control 20+ sprinkler zones from anywhere on our property or in the world if you want to stop watering, start watering a newly sodded lawn, etc.

There is an inherent problem with the WiFi modules. The first one didn’t work at all. Rainbird sent me to a local distributor which took up 1 1/2 hours because the first place was out of them. The second module works but has to reboot practically daily.
