The battered edges of the Book of Psalms I purchased, reflected how it was (seemingly) carelessly 'flung' into its ill fitting envelope and then squashed through my letterbox - much as other reviewers have already mentioned. That said, It was not a deal breaker for me - I just took a deep breath and proceeded to carefully flatten the edges, all the time reminding myself this is to be a 'working' book. The print, easily legible, on good quality paper in a single column is a joy to read, sounds funny, but it feels like a book! The odd bits of gold rendered, illuminated text dotted throughout the book add interest. I have found using a 'bookmarker' really helpful! The absence of notes, references, correlating verses etc. is refreshing and one can focus simply on the thoughts of our LORD.
