Not only outstanding quality in build and sound, all Islanders have a slightly wider nut (1-1/2") which is very helpful for newbies, large hands, and those with a little arthritis in order to chord properly/easier. This particular soprano is solid mahogany as opposed to a laminate, has the wider nut, and a nice binding and sound hole rosette. I usually play tenors, and wouldn't buy a soprano that didn't have that wider neck--very few manufacturers offer that in a soprano.
