A: No. And the connection is very cheap and fussy. Not every cord will fit or stay in.

A: Like with most small rechargeable electronics, typically no. Especially since there doest seem to be any way to open it. I would recommend avoiding draining the battery completely and keep it charged to get the maximum life out of it.

I think cool thinks when I'm in bed and this let's me write them down without the big lamp that might disturb my husband. Also great to read to when he's asleep. I clip it to my shirt and my book is lit. Love the bendy adjustable neck and that you pick how dim or bright.
