This wax is quite hard and does not melt easily. For one TBSP of this wax I needed just about 1 and 1/2 TBSP of oils to soften it up enough for lip balm. I'm not sure how well this would work for a cotton wrap. You might want to research about carnauba wax to see if that might work a little better. I don't think carnauba wax is as hard and the candelillia wax. I hope this is helpful to you. **Q: Can this be used as a hard wax for armpits?** A: I use beeswax as part of my lip balms and deodorants, so I would say you can use this too. When I used it for a beeswax substitute in lip balms, I used half the amount I would have used for the beeswax. It’s much harder. **Q: How is this wax extracted? You use half of what you would use with beeswax because it's a harder wax. The result is smoother than beeswax, but just as moisture preserving. I used 1 teaspoon of wax to yield 10 lip balms to give you an idea of how much goes a long way. There is a smell not unlike burnt sage - it's slight, but with the lotion bars I could detect it, and with the lip balm it was undetectable (and the lip balm is only flavored with peppermint).
