**Q: how hot does it get? i'm looking for 2300 degrees f.**
A: I purchased this soldering iron for making solder connections to antique radio equipment. It heats hot enought to solder to the metal chassis. The amount of heat you are looking for 2300 can not be obtained by this iron. A micro torch would work for this amount of heat.
