To use, simply store the included handmade cast iron wand with firestone in the fuel filled Firelighter. When ready to start your fire, place the wand under your logs and light. The firestone will burn for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, eliminating the need to "build" your fire. The hand thrown firelighters measure approximately 8 inches tall, excluding the wand. We recommend using only lamp oil for the fuel, which is readily available. The firestones last virtually forever, but if you were to need a replacement they are available at your local fireplace store. The wand is handmade by a local blacksmith. They make a wonderful gift and a beautiful addition to any hearth. Any types of fluids that should be avoided?** A: You can use kerosene but the best thing to use is a clean burning lamp or oil **Q: How would this work with a woodstove? Every image is a fireplace and the item left in. Doesn't the handle get too hot to take out of a woodstove?** A: It works well in my woodstove. I put it in the left corner and close the door as far as I can, with part of the handle sticking out. I leave it about 15 minutes until it burns itself out and the wood is burning. The handle doesn't get too hot. **Q: I have the pot but need to replace the wand with the ceramic stone. Would this be available stand alone?** A: Hi Gregory, sorry for the delay in responding.
