Is this correct?** A: I bought mine years ago, and I'm comfortable with my choice of a 32ft ladder to go with working fire alarms and an extinguisher for that unthinkable scenario living in a fourth story flat, you know what I mean. I think its an expensive option for an 8ft ladder and I think there was a clear plastic round mine at the loops, probably to protect the thread against wear and tear. If you feel the product looks or feels inferior, for 8ft ladders their are a lot of options out there, i'd just send it back. I hope this answer helps.
