When I used to buy this at my supermarket, I sometimes ventured into experimenting with other brands if it was out of stock. Never again. The four-ingredients list is number one reason for me. The texture is right on, the flavor is wonderful. It doesn't surprise me that I have to buy imported licorice which meets all of my criteria. Back when I last had it, it still came in little boxes.Anyway, I was a little concerned seeing some reviews talking about stale and hard pieces, but mine have a best by date of more than a year from the time I received it, and they are very fresh and soft.I also thought 7 ounces wasn't very much, but I somehow missed the detail about 7 servings of 11 pieces, being roughly 77 pieces per bag (i.e. if your bag is like mine, a few pieces will get obliterated, but a majority of them will be intact), so there's more per bag more than I personally expected, and, in fact, it might actually be the original amount from many years back, but I'm not sure. It's a bit expensive, but it always has been. I personally find it's worth it for a rare, quality treat.
