## Description

The Sharp SMD2489ES is the first, built-in, Smart Microwave Drawer™ Oven. Over 35 convenient and simple voice commands help you make the most of what this smart microwave oven has to offer. What could be easier, than just asking, "Alexa, defrost 1 pound of chicken" to your desertcart Echo device? Our wide selection of Alexa commands and Sensor Cook & Defrost menu items take the guesswork out of cooking. Download the Sharp Kitchen app and pair with Alexa to enable the smart features. Improving upon our popular SMD2480CS model, the SMD2489ES Sharp Smart Stainless Steel Microwave Drawer™ Oven features Built-In Airflow venting. Now you can choose the traditional "proud mount" installation or flush mounting for a streamlined finish without additional trim-kits or vent deflectors. With our Easy Wave Open feature for touchless operation, simply wave up-and-down near the motion sensor and the Stainless Steel Microwave Drawer™ Oven will glide open. With the touch of a button or a gentle nudge, our patented Easy Touch Automatic Drawer System smoothly closes the oven to avoid messy spills. The SMD2489ES Sharp® Microwave Drawer™ Oven stays closed when you walk by, so children and pets won’t accidentally open it. The concealed, glass, Touch Control panel is easy-to-see and operate at a convenient 45° angle, keeping all of the controls at your fingertips when you need them, and completely out of sight when you don’t. The modern, edge-to-edge, black glass and stainless steel design with bright, LED interior lighting and stylish floor pattern compliments your kitchen and pairs beautifully with other stainless steel appliances.

Review: Counter Saver - In a small kitchen without an island, this frees up valuable counter space. At 950 watts it does a good job and no turntable means less to clean. It talks to Alexa and the Sharp app on my phone/tablet.
Review: Expected more…. - I like the functionality of the microwave, but dislike the how the control panel opens and closes. It feels very cheap and is a poor design.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Expected more….

I like the functionality of the microwave, but dislike the how the control panel opens and closes. It feels very cheap and is a poor design.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Microwave Success
*by A***R on March 25, 2022*

I have seen reviews indicating that the drawer is slow to open/close but when there are hot items I want it to go slow so not to spill. Looks sleek and so far works well.
