Great non-toxic replacement for flake white for portraits
Gamblin oil paints in general are packed with pigment and have a lovely, buttery consistency that is a joy to work with. This warm white is an excellent addition to their line of paints and is essential for portrait painters or anyone who would prefer a less cool white on their palette than straight titanium white, and who don’t want to use the lead-based, toxic flake white oil paint. I for one could not do without this lovely warm white color.

The color is perfect and it’s very creamy. I deducted one star for the oil having separated at the top, but the paint seems fine.

TINTING STRENGTH
DOES NOT OVER POWER A PIGMENT LIKE TITANIUM AND OTHERS.IT SUBTLY LOWERS THE CHROMA WITHOUT MAKING IT TOO MUDDY AND CHALKYALL AT ONCE. WOULD BUY AGAIN AND HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THISTYPE OF PRODUCT FOR A GOOD WHILE.

I teach and this is one of the paint colors I make available to my students.
This paint is a warm white, just like it's name. I have my students use both the warm and soft mixing white in class to make subtle changes to their artwork.

Nice consistentcy. Like it so much I am using this instead of Titanium White. No chalky sheen as in titanium White. Glad I got the big tube!
