Just wanted to verify.** A: It will strip a sheathed wire, however, coated magnet wire wouldn't be stripped so much as scraped. A few passes might get most off but you would still likely be better off with using some fine sandpaper to remove it. **Q: Will it strip Teflon coated or ptfe stranded wire?** A: I was trying to strip 36awg silver plated copper wire. Forget it it's really a junky tool. Hard to believe it's made in Germany. **Q: Can this device strip cat 6 Ethernet cable?** A: Cat5e is typically 24 gauge. Cat6 should always be 23 but some that is 24 is out there. 24-26 AWG for Cat 5e and 23-24 AWG for Cat 6. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's awesome. *by K***N on August 29, 2026* Wow, I have been doing wire stripping the wrong way my entire life. This tool is ideal for the tiny wires i deal with all the time with electronics. Nothing comes close. Feels solid in the hand, and the quality is top-notch. I would spend money on it again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Stripper for Tiny Wire *by T***K on April 9, 2026* This is my favorite little wire stripper for tiny 18-28g wire. Works well have a setting for depth and reliability strips tiny wire without breaking it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top Quality Tool *by M***N on July 27, 2023* No it's not cheap. But it does the job it's designed to do better than anything else out there. If you work with a lot of very fine wire--just buy this and forget about messing around stripping the wire with an Xacto knife and destroying half of the strands. Use it a couple times and you'll forget that you had to lay out a little extra coin for it. Very happy with it and would buy another one without hesitation. ## Frequently Bought Together - KNIPEX Tools - Precision Mini Wire Stripper, 26-36 AWG (1280040SB) - KNIPEX Mini Wire Stripper 18-28 AWG - KNIPEX Automatic Wire Stripper 10-24 AWG, 7.25 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.eg/products/25458551-tools-12-80-040-sb-cable-strippers](https://www.desertcart.com.eg/products/25458551-tools-12-80-040-sb-cable-strippers) --- *Product available on Desertcart Egypt* *Store origin: EG* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
