The loyal guardian dragon was rare even in the age of dragons. Few brave knights and friendly kings were happy enough to be worthy of the watchful attention of the Guardian Dragon. The stately Guardian Dragon features several shades of royal blue, along with magnificent gilded horns and claws. When the written records were kept regularly, Guardian Dragons were only the legend: stories whispered to their grandchildren by gray-bearded knights. Early tradition tells of powerful kings and queens who allied with dragons and eventually created the breed known as the Guardian Dragon. The wizard hopped up the stone steps and took two at once. This time he had done it. After lifelong, dangerous work in dragon breeding, he had finally found a combination that met his leader's wishes. The local chief, who described himself as the king of the forest tribe, wanted a dragon tame enough to be trained but still a fearsome enemy for all intruders. A combination of the meek forest dragon, the mighty cloud dragon and the friendly lucky dragon proved to be the solution. This newly created beast would be loyal but strict, quiet but dismissive. These Safari Ltd dragons are AMAZING for beauty, quality, durability, details, regal-looking, and great for play or display. I am an adult getting dragons for everyone on my Christmas list this year, both adults and children and I cannot wait for Christmas Day because the whole family are fans of mythological dragons and I'm sure these Safari (and several Scheleich) dragons are sure to be a HIT! Yes, they are a bit pricy, some of them, but the quality assures they will last a lifetime and beyond. We actually do have a couple from when our now adult children were just kids and they have survived being left outside in the elements but I always found them and brought them back inside so they wouldn't get lost and they are still around now for the grandkids to play with.....and they love them! So I thought this year why not get them their own, and as I was looking I found others I KNOW the adults will enjoy getting too because the adults incorporate words like 'griffin' and 'wizzard' and 'morador' in their passcodes for different things and they also play dungeons and dragons every time we have a family event, hahaha, so dragons for Christmas is a pretty sure bet, I'd say, wouldn't you? LOL
