These E27 sockets are for making your own pendant lights. They are a dark brass/copper finish and look very good. They should be used with round cable for the best result. There is a set screw in the neck to screw into the round cable and keep tension off of the wire connection screws. It's simple to use these. Slip the upper collar onto the wire and then strip off enough wire to connect to the screw posts. The screws are combination standard flat head and Phillips head. Any screwdriver will do. Once you snap the top and bottom halves together, with some force, the pendant is ready to wire into a power source. This are TOP NOTCH light sockets. ~ Superior construction. SOLID metal components makes for a sturdy feeling socket with some serious weight behind it. This is just what you want for that perfect retro look. ~ Nice knurling in both the upper and lower rings...again super nice construction. ~ Excellent consistency in the finish. If you are a fanatic about quality, this is for you. With this lamp socket you can turn a cheap lamp into a high- quality piece of furniture assuming ywou have good taste for a shade and the lamp itself . Machined brass. It's hard to imagine you can buy this quality piece for this price . In the days of mass produced crap.........this lamp socket can turn your lamp into a truly quality piece . You will benifit from the purchase of cloth covered (old- fashioned) lamp cord. Installation note:These sockets, like most self wire-able metal sockets, come with a cardboard lining inside.This should be left in as it acts as an insulator. Do not remove it

Review: Beautiful, Heavy Duty - It's a beautifully machined socket, very heavy duty. It has extended threads for an Uno Fitter 1.25" type shade. Provides a lot of adjustment for shade height . I used it for a table lamp. I actually used a harp and finial for the particular shade I purchased, but nice to have the flexibility. I purchased the pull chain socket to replace a turn switch socket for a bedside lamp. Much easier to use in the dark from a prone position. I was a little disappointed, especially at this price, the chain did not have a bell, ball, or even connector at the end. They sell a brushed brass bell separately, but $7.88 for one is really way too much.

**Q: will this accommodate a 1.5" lamp shade ring?**
A: No, a1.5” ID ring will be too big and will slide over the holding rings on the socket

**Q: What is the input pipe thread: 1/8" ips or metric 10mm ? compatible with standard lamp tube?**
A: The item is a quality item I say if your looking for that type of fixture buy it and figure out the rest. In May application I never used the threads

A: Looks like solid brass to me.  They exhibit evidence of being machined rather than stamped or pressed. I like them just fine.

**Q: how do you attach the wires?**
A: The top is held in place with the knurled ring that screws off, than the internal bulb fixture slides up and out with the knob switch. You can wire it then. There are 2 brass screws that hold the wire.

I went with this option because it was Solid machined brass vs pressed sheeting. It’s a heavy, quality piece - honestly impressed by value. Looks great, and was easy to install and adjust the fit. Was able to get the patina to match the antique piece I was refurbishing. Performance is excellent. Switch is sturdy as well.
