Works. Cannot attest to a 20 square foot radius, but it does work great when close by. I got about 25 hours out of a cartridge, but another reviewer claims that if you put the little blue cap back on when it's not in use, it lasts longer, so I started doing that. Mosquitoes hate this stuff, I was getting swarmed until I turned it on and they *poof* all of a sudden disappeared. Needs to be charged up every 10 hours or so, good little gadget.

I love this device! We live on our boat at anchor in The Bahamas. Mosquitoes are part of the landscape. On those non windy days or protected spots, this is a must. I wish the refills lasted longer than 40 hours. Just stock up! Usually use the drive for 3-4 hours per night. Charging it every 5 days if used consistently. Very convenient.

Second year for these and I’ve been swearing by them. However, I was THREE feet away from the core unit tonight and a mosquito landed on my freaking jacked bicep and I had to old school swat that blood sucking heifer. Maybe I got a bad cell? Either way, ‘squita ia dead and I dodged a bite. One strike thermacell. One strike.

This brand really works to ward off mosquitoes in our FL backyard. Bought the machine for hubby's bday, been buying refills for it every Summer now for 2yrs. It works!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This product is the only product that makes it possible for my husband to sit outdoors in Houston Texas it’s not cheap but it REALLY works

I originally purchased the thermosell rechargeable based off of a co workers recommendation. They seem to work well after being on for 10-15 minutes when I'm out in the barn at night farting around. Good enough that I bought a second one.The refills are a bit pricey but last longer than the one that comes with the device. This is my second purchase of refills.

A++ for effectiveness, just sat in our backyard, a whole group of us, at dusk, a warm humid day/evening under a gigantic sycamore tree where we always get bitten- and no one got a bite, no mosquitoes were even sighted or heard buzzing around. I’m very satisfied with the product’s effectiveness. 5 stars. However!! This photo shows a 40 hour refill after 5 hours of use - with how much was used up, there is no way this refill will last 40 hours! So that seems deceptive advertising, for the price. 2 stars max for the refill claim. So I've settled on 3 stars because I’m salty about that- but if you’re looking for an efficient product and you’re okay with the cost even for less hours of use, go for it!

This is the best mosquito repellent there is. That’s all. Don’t waste your money on candles, bug zappers, foggers, incense, and snake oil. Use this.
