Read In One Sitting... Very Good Read!
Jed leaves the Army after being in a road side ambush and returns to his home town, the last place on earth he really wants to be!After moving in with his brother to recover he then moves in with his Sister in Law's brother Max, either that or killing his ignorant brother!I think the other reviews and product description give a good idea what this book is about!I really did like Max and Jed, both strong men in their own way yet also very different. What they did have in common was so much physical and emotional baggage. This was a addictive read that I read in one sitting... It's a story of learning to get over barriers, dealing with grief, family and learning to trust all wrapped upIn a great storyline!Highly recommended!

LOVED IT!!!
Garrett shared her usual mix with this book, and a writing style I just love. She is definitely an author I definitely 1-click because you're always guaranteed a bloody good read and one hell of a ride. This was exactly what I thought it would be and so much more. An intense hurt/comfort story focusing more on the healing, friendship, trust and just allowing yourself to be vulnerable to love than the sex part of a relationship. I'm looking forward to more in this series. Loved it.

Great read!
First time I've read this writer and will definitely be reading more of her. This was a very unusual book about recovering from past and present trauma, about the importance of friendship, family and love. The subject matter was the unusual bit as I'd never come across Jed's debilitating illness and the writer's treatment of this and of Max's epilepsy was well researched and gripping. All the characters were for me real and contributed something to the main storyline of the two. The development of their feelings for one another was believable and the sex appropriate.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it as an in depth read.

Love changes everything
When you get a kind young military man, with a cronical illness and personal problems, you have a great MC named Jed.When you get a sweet younger carpenter, with a cronical illness and personal problems, you have a great MC named Max.Throw in a wonderful service dog, two cute nieces, troublesome family, great friends and a believable storyline, then you have a great story.I love this story more and more everytime I read it.

Audiobook Review
FourStars**Audiobook Review**This was a strange book for me. I liked the characters, I LOVED the way they grew into a relationship and I even liked that each had their own twisted stories and history to be told. However, somewhere along the way I found it just felt like the story just dragged on and started to lose me and my interest. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was that was missing or took too long to get out, but it just did. Maybe it was that the relationship seemed to lack chemistry. Sure, we were TOLD it was HOT but it didn't FEEL like it was, not to me anyway. It felt like two old friends who just sometimes went past kissing when the desire to was there. However, I felt like there was some really great parts and that made me think it was just me or perhaps just this book that wasn't working for me, but not the author's writing style itself. So I would definitely pick up another work from this author. As for the Narrator, Michael Stellman, I thought he did a pretty decent job. He had a nice tone to listen to and kept the voices easily discernible. I can't say if it was the book that was being read or the way he read it, but there were no stand out moments that made me think 'Oh! This is my new favorite narrator.' It likely was the sad content of the book... then again, I can say he really helped me feel the pain of the characters and brought the tone of the characters to the places they should've been in the situations they were in so I suppose all in all it was a job well done.I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.Renee

Loved it!
I hadn't read much military based stuff before this book, but it has totally won me over. It's one of those stories that grabs you and makes you read the whole book before you even think of putting it down! This book had MC to spare, but it never felt like my attention was split or that too much time was devoted to the various back stories or other character developments. Will definitely be looking at the author's other work.

Another favourite from this author
Having read Slide & Rare I honestly didn't see how this book would live up to my expectations. However I'm glad to say I was wrong! Jed and Max have quickly become favourite characters, and I am just hopeful that they get a second story like Ash & Pete did.The way the relationship between these two flawed characters develops, and the way they come to mean the world to each other is perfect. I would recommend this book to anyone.
