It's only slightly heavier than I thought, but I've worn it during summer thunderstorms without getting too hot. The material is very strong and definitely keeps me dry, and it will definitely help with the warmth factor during football season (wind resistant). Love the zippered pockets: 1 on each side, one breast pocket. The hood and bottom can be cinched tighter. Only downside: no visor on the hood - I wear glasses, and even that small, fake visor you see on other brands would be helpful. The purple color I chose is perfect for Baltimore football.
