**Q: Do you need special housing?**
A: This blade works only with the Cricut Maker machine, not any of the earlier models. This blade fits into the housing that comes with that machine.

**Q: I'm new to cricut and a little confused, what's the difference between this and the cricut rotary blade kit for $17.89? thank you.**
A: This is the actual Rotary Blade with Quickswap Housing. The Cricut Rotary Blade kit is a replacement kit if you already have this product and need to replace your blade.

**Q: Is it compatible with Air explorer 2?**
A: no

**Q: Will the Explore Air 2 cut fabric without the rotary cutting tool?**
A: This rotary blade tool is only for the Cricut Maker machine.  The Air 2 can cut material with the bonded fabric blade, but you would need to stabilize the fabric before cutting.
