But now, having these since 2021, I can confidently say I really can not recommend this product. PROS: 1. They did work great at first.They are light bulbs. Its hard to go wrong as long as they... light...... right?... 2. Set up, although with poor instructions, wasn't rocket science. Cons: 1. The set-up instructions are extremely poor. 2. They require you to download and set them up in a separate app (their personal app) before you can connect them to your Alexa or Google. 3. They are not reliable . I own six bulbs, and sometimes one or two of them would suddenly become unreachable on my network (more on this later). I could still operate my light switch manually, but that defeats the purpose of this bulb. I would just have to wait until they magically started working again. Over the last few months, they have had outages spanning weeks..... with ABSOLUTELY ZERO INFORMATION, APOLOGY, OR NOTIFICATION FROM SENGLED. There is no customer service to assist you. Nothing you can do but wait. Two of my bulbs are stuck at 10% brightness because the outage happened while they were dimmed. Can I reset the bulbs manually (done by flicking the light switch a few times) and hope they go back to default brightness... sure. Will I? No because the server is still down with no eta of restoration or notice from Sengled.... again. I have other smart bulbs in my house, and I don't always use Alexa to turn them on/off, so I don't see why they wouldn't. **Q: Does this work with the Alexa kids?** A: Yes it can but the parent has to enable that feature in the app which allows kids access to smart home devices. **Q: Will this work in ceiling light?** A: It Works in any Screen-in lamp so it should work in a ceiling lamp. The only thing you must realize is that you must have the ceiling lamp switch always on, otherwise there is no power to the bulb so it cannot be controlled or turn itself on. **Q: Do these lights give off a yellow glow? I want a white light.** A: I have a few of the Sengled Smart Light Bulbs: Soft White, Multicolor, and Daylight. No yellow glow with the Daylight bulbs. I am just done with them as a company at this point and can not recommend anything from them at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ALL 4 BULBS STOPPED WORKING AFTER 1 YEAR *by M***C on June 20, 2025* UPDATE: apparently, the company’s server went down and that’s why I was unable to manage my lights through the app. The app is back up and working. From what I have read if my lightbulbs were compatible with a zigbee hub, I would not have had this issue. These lights are not compatible with the zigbee hub June 2025:. These were great for a year then they stopped connecting to the app and the only way to turn the bulb on is manually. This gives you basic light but you cannot control the color or brightness of the bulb. I have 4 bulbs, 1 in an office lamp, 2 in bedroom lamps, and 1 in a hallway light fixture. I did everything that they suggest for troubleshooting but they still don't work. I deleted the app and reinstalled it and now I can't log in or get access to the app at all.
