A: It does a good job with the normal pool debris and it is a fine enough net to snag insects and particles. The front edge is flattened so it is good at skimming the bottom of the pool.

A: I think the depth is about 15” + there is a good image with dimensions at the very bottom of the page for the leaf skimmer.
