For $480 it is by far the best bang for your buck when it comes to electric skateboards
I received this electric skateboard 3 days ago. Since then, I rode it about 25 miles, and so far I have had no issues regarding disconnections whatsoever. Today, I used my phone to try to find out how far it could go on a charge. After 2 hours of riding, my phone showed that I had gone about 15 miles. By the time I ended my ride, the skateboard charge display still showed 2 lights, and it definitely had some juice left in it. However, during those last 15 minutes, the skateboard struggled to climb hills and could only reach a maximum speed of 12 mph. I was surprised that it had made it as far as it did before that point, but was still a bit disappointed as the battery light indicator made me think I would be able to reach 20 miles. Overall I love this skateboard so far. It's pretty fast, and though I've only been skateboarding for a few months, I feel pretty stable on it. The wheels are huge, easily rolling over any cracks or rocks you encounter. I also reached a speed of 18 mph, but I wasn't even close to pushing the board to its full potential. I would say that I could likely reach 25 mph with the board fully charged and the speed mode unlocked. In the end, I am very pleased with the board, and for $480 it is by far the best bang for your buck when it comes to electric skateboards. Will keep updating this review every few weeks with updates on the board's condition.===========================================================================================================Update 1: 6-15-17:Yesterday I used the board on the speed mode for the first time. I have already become incredibly comfortable on the board, and I reached a speed of 24 mph on flat ground and 26 mph down a small hill. However, one thing to note is that the board loses battery quite quickly when going that fast. After about 20 minutes I had already gotten the board down to 75% battery, which would normally take almost an hour to occur when I rode it around normally. So if you plan to go fast on the board often, be sure to get a spare battery. Another thing to mention is that the manual says it takes about 30 minutes to charge the remote and 1.5 hours to charge the board, but in reality it takes double the time that they advertise. Not an issue for me, but if you plan on using a spare battery, make sure you give yourself time to charge both batteries.

not sure if they have some bad boards or what
I ordered two boards for my twin boys. One board worked perfectly, went 20 mph, had correct remote, had holes to show power lights. The second board only went about 10 mph, different remote than pictured, no power light holes. I returned the second board and got a new one from same supplier Ride Genesis Sales. I think they sent me the same one back again but, changed out the wheels since it had the EXACT SAME ISSUE. not sure if they have some bad boards or what. So... if your board doesn't work they aren't all bad just some.

Go buy a different board or build your own board
It is a good board but there are things they can fix. First off let me start by saying that the price is great for how good the board. These are pros and cons of the board and the company Genesis.(the 5/5 and 4/5 is the rating)Pros- -Price(Super cheap for how good the components of the board are)(5/5) -Speed(It says max speed of 20mph, I have measured it to go at max 23mph for me)(5/5) -Aesthetics(Looks great)(4/5)Cons- -Disconnection -I will be riding around at half max speed and my board will either stomp the brakes or jesus will have to take the damn wheel. I was going down a hill with the brakes on a bit so I didnt go flying due to how steep it was and my board and remote disconnected and boy was I flying. I had to jump off my board and watch it smash into the curb(thank god it wasnt a car) -Durability - I admit I have taken this down some bumpy roads and all but the grip tape is already falling off after two weeks of riding and there are chips all over the board. For one instance I was riding down a long road and without even realizing until it was to late the whole front truck came off sending me into a tree. (1/5) -Range of the board -This company Genesis boast that their boards can reach up to 20miles on a full charge, but even though I weigh 120lbs I get a maxium of 12miles.(3/5) -Remote Durability -Straight PLASTIC(1/5) -Battery Pack -So dang big.I understand that its supposed to have farther range but its extremely hard to clean to make sure that nothing wrong goes with it and its even harder to clean the holder for the battery. -Weight of everything -17lbs?!?!?! Thats a big lie. I weighed my board and it was 22lbs. That extremly heavy. I could live with 17lbs but 22lbs??really? -Customer Support -So recently my board and I have taken a fall and my battery pack came lose. I took it out where I fell and placed it back in better but then when I got home I realized that I was missing a piece to hold the battery pack in. So I emailed Genesis and it took them 4 days to respond to my email acting like I do not use their board for commuting purposes. And it was a automated email. The didnt even have enough respect to have someone actually email me. If I could go back in time and buy a different board, I would.Keep all of this in mind.

... for the last couple of years that I was pretty pleased with
I had a Yuneec e-Go 1 cruiser for the last couple of years that I was pretty pleased with. I recently got caught in some rain and that was all she wrote for the e-GO. Ooops! Anyway, I decided to get a replacement and for the price point decided I would give the Tomahawk a shot. It arrived today and what I received was certainly not what I was expecting. The board itself is not new like was advertised, but used. The wheels were dirty, the paint on the hubs had been scratched, there was a pretty big chunk missing out of one of the wheels, the front edge of the board was all scratched up and the best part was that when I took it out of the box the rear truck literally FELL OFF!! There was no bolt holding it in!! WTF?!? Needless to say I'm returning it and would never consider buying from these guys again. Buyer beware!!

They worked good for about year
Bought 2 of them for the kids at X-Mas a year ago. They worked good for about year. Then the battery would not stay charged on one of them. Warranty is 12 months. It's been 13 months and they just advised there's nothing they can do?!! So the product is garbage now:( So disappointed! I would never buy a Genesis product again!!
