Don't have a clue as to the reason. The quality of the product does not justify the high price as the polystyrene case looks home made. The ice cubes pop out of the black case whilst in the freezer and the polystyrene case sticks to the freezer. Its impossible to get the ice cubes out of the black case out without running under luke warm water. The ice cubes are clear but not worth the hassle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful crystal clear cubes *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 18 April 2022* It takes a bit of preparation to get it right. I use a good quality bottled water, heated up to almost boiling point on the hob (not the kettle due to limescale and impurities.) You do end up with one ice cube larger than the others, but the others end up beautifully square and crystal clear. The only pain is thawing the tray underneath so you can separate it from the black tray and release the ice cubes. I usually stab the cuboid of ice underneath - just under the black tray to release it, being careful not to pierce the black tray. Then, once separated from the cuboid of ice, the cubes should pop out fairly easily. I then transfer the cubes to a freezer bag and put them in the freezer. The cubes melt much more slowly than regular ones due to their size, so your drink doesn't get diluted, and your tonic stays fizzy! I enjoy one ice cube in a whisky glass with a nice gin and tonic and a glass of lemon! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works! *by on Reviewed in Canada 27 December 2024* Crystal clear ice cubes.
