Star brite Ultimate Aluminum Cleaner & Restorer is engineered to bring back unpainted aluminum surfaces that have become dull or stained. Unlike other "all surface" cleaners, this product is formulated specifically for use on aluminum and strips away grime, stains and oxidation without harming the metal. Ultimate aluminum Cleaner & Restorer is the best choice for quickly cleaning and improving the appearance of all aluminum pontoon boats, John boats, canoes and other unpainted aluminum surfaces that have Lost their original luster.

Review: Works GREAT, and easy. - Holy Cow, this stuff works like magic! It took many years of crud off my pontoon logs in minutes and they look like new now. 95% of it rinsed off. in some spots, especially right at the waterline where the gunk was thickest and most solid, I reapplied and scrubbed with a car tire brush and the thick stuff disappeared. My little boat is only 15' and it took the entire jug and didn't quite get all the inside surfaces that don't show anyway. As a test, I used a pressure washer on parts of a log and didn't notice any difference in how the StarBrite removed the crud, so don't waste your time. I had the pressure washer out doing the deck so I ran it over the trailer really well to make sure none of the acidic wash remained. I also pulled the log drain plugs, rinsed them and sprayed them with silicone to keep them topnotch. It actually took longer to get the boat on the trailer (on a very windy day) than to wash the logs. Yes, it is that quick and easy. Next time I won't wait so long to wash the boat, which BTW stays in the water year round.
Review: It works pretty darn good - It worked great exactly like I was hoping for my wheels were not in bad shape, but I just couldn’t get them clean enough, sprayed this on let it sit about two minutes max then I wiped the wheels down with a microfiber, then rinse them off. They look almost new now I should be able to polish them and get them to shine up very nice.

A: I would try an inconspicuous area, such as the back of the rim. See if it cleans as you would like. Keep in mind the backside is always the dirtiest so if it cleans up pretty well with no effects to the Aluminum. You would only need to polish them after they are cleaned.
