Toto CST412MF.10#01 Plumbing Part, Cotton

We had an issue where a baseboard heater was located behind the toilet. The prior toilet, an older round Kohler barely fit. I ordered a replacement elongated Toto Drake II which my plumber told me three times would fit. Of course when he dry fitted the Drake, he noticed there was a "ridge" at the top of the trap in the back of the toilet that prevented the toilet itself from being able to be fully pushed back. So I looked around and found people that had the exact same issue and it appeared universally that this Toto Aquia CST12MF.10 was the only one that would fit. This has a 10" rough in, not the standard 12" rough in. Happy to say it did fit exactly. There is a little gap between the tank and wall but it's not that bad at all. Much better then having to cut into the newly tiled wall and recess the heater. It was a pain to install. My plumber is experienced and did not need the instruction but it did take him a solid three hours. Be prepared to hear your plumber complain. But once it was installed, even he admitted that it looked great, fit with our problem installation, and flushed very well. He was a fan. So are we.

We ordered this toilet online because we needed the rather rare 10" rough-in, and this was the least expensive place to buy it. The toilet arrived quickly. It was VERY securely packaged (in two separate boxes). It arrived in excellent condition, and now that it's installed it works GREAT. We really like the water-saving dual flush, and the flush has enough 'umph' to do the job. The only drawback is that this Toto toilet needs a very non-standard installation process. My plumber was not familiar with the process so it took extra time (and money) and he was not willing to guarantee the work against leaks. He was not at all happy about the learning curve. But when it was done he said "well after all my grousing I have to admit it went together beautifully." He seems to have completed the installation successfully and everything is working very well. The toilet is narrow enough to fit in a small space, which was another one of our needs. If you're thinking of buying this toilet, you may want to find a plumber who has experience with the model. OR show your plumber a video that shows just how easy the installation really is if you know what to do. I found a great one online. If I ever find the URL again I'll try to remember to update this review. I only wish my plumber had been willing to watch it.

Hands down best toilet I have ever owned. We just remodeled our master bathroom, and needed a 10'' rough in toilet. Our previously purchased 12'' was not going to work because of the tile work on the wall! So we researched and decided on this. YAY. I tell everyone what an awesome brand this is, now I want to replace our other toilet with this one too LOL. Seriously it is super easy to maintain/clean, very water efficient, and modern sleek in design. I have nothing negative to say about it, other than the price... but it was totally worth it! I am never going back to Kohler - ever!We had it professionally installed - they did not report any issues. I noticed some of the reviews might have been DIY's or random plumbers but our crew had no problems with the installation. And the toilet seat does come separate; I like it because it is very solid quality.Buy TOTO and you will see the difference :)

This is an awesome toilet, it flushes just as well as a 12" Rough does but it comes at a cost but trust me it is worth every penny.Things to remember when buying this toilet is:1. It is meant for a 10" Rough In2. When installing this to a tile floor you need to use a tile drill bit. This is not a typical toilet installation, there are two brackets that get screwed to the floor and then the toilet mounts from the sides. It works great just follow the template.3. When installing the seat, note that this toilet is not open from the bottom to just install any seat, some seats don't fit properly on this bowl as well. In my opinion I would purchase the seat from Toto as it is specified for this model (the seat is not included). If you use the Toto seat you can use the special hardware that is included with this product, if you use a custom seat install the seat before installing the toilet so you can get your hands in from the back holes.4. Install the wax ring on the mounting plate and then install the mounting plate onto the flange. Then you can install your new toilet onto the mounting plate. It is really easy to install, you don't have to line the heavy toilet with the flange in the floor.Toto designed the install so only one man or one strong woman is needed (the toilet base is very heavy). Well designed, and a nice solid whit finish makes this piece perfect for any sleek looking new bathroom. Please also note, I have installed many toilets over the years, I have learned that if you get the concept of the install you can do it.

The toilet bowl and the tank combination are well matched almost looks like an unitary piece.Step by step Installation instructions were concise and easy to follow. The shape of the assembled unit are well designed with looks and functionality combined. The design of the toilet base is about the best I have seen. No wiggling to seat the toilet bowl over wax rings and protruding anchor bolts.The water fill mechanism is unique to TOTO and is easily adjustable for discharge volume.The only drawback is the convoluted method of installing the seat. You need very small hands and nimble fingers to attach the hardware through the holes at the back.The assembly needed no readjustment and worked as designed from the first get go.

Great toilet but people should be aware there is no toilet seat included in the purchase/package.

TOTO toilets are great. Unfortunately we bought the model with the chrome flush button that is very difficult to reach if you are doing a courtesy flush. WE also have a problem with the tank cover getting bumped back just a small amount which allows the toilet to run until discovered. I can't recommend this type button in the center of the tank.

Waited 9 months for this, but a very nice unit...
