This paint is incredibly fragile and needs to be (airbrushed) painted over a gloss black base to look authentic. It is really for model makers. If you want to cover up a 15mm pipe with a chrome finish - something called 'Chrome Pipe Covers' are made specifically for this. You can get them on Amazon, and they are inexpensive and very easy to fit - I have used them in the past. If you absolutely need to paint pipes silver - then Hammerite would be the only one.
