I tend to like using water washable as it just makes clean up easier. I recently got a Saturn 3 Ultra and decided to get a bottle of the 8k resin to test. I have to say I was blown away. NOT because the quality is any better for printing, I did a test print of the same model on the same machine for both resins and i think its easier to see the detail with the darker 8k resin so i dont think thats the main draw. The main benifit is how much stronger the 8k version is. Typical elegoo water washable is fairly brittle which is why i think i got quite a few failures be it partial or full, this stuff on the other hand is way sturdier and just feels stronger. How long does it last after shelf life or should I just return it?** A: Send it back **Q: I reordered earlier this month but this batch does not print properly, every print fails. Do I have a faulty batch?** A: If you used EXACTLY the same temperatures and print model and ambient conditions, and several copies of the print failed, that suggests there might be a problem with the resin. But it does depend on what you term a 'fail'. If the prints fell off the print plate during printing, that might be a plate which is not clean. If you changed any of the print settings in the slicer, or if you updated the slicer without reinstating the settings you normally use, that might be the cause. If you used a different pattern of supports, that might be the trouble. In short, you need to eliminate all other causes before being sure the resin is 'bad'. I have used lots of ELEGOO resin, both water-washable and non-water-washable, and have never had a fail due to problems with the actual resin.
