Crumbs fell off when I tried to carry the mats to the sink, and herbs, spices and spills actually tend to stick and are a bit challenging to clean because the mats are so thin and flexible. I turn the textured side down (unless we have company) because the smooth side is easier to clean. The textured side looks nice. I have washed them several times already and they are more durable than I expected. I think they are a reasonable value for the money. We paid about $20 for a set of four.
