Review: A good value for the bucks - Well, it's a good thing these Ugly Sticks are tough rods because desertcart shipped this to me completely unprotected aside from a very flimsy oversized cardboard box which showed signs of being retaped enroute. I could hardly believe the rod wasn't broken when I opened the carton. A small nick or two seems to be the worst of the damage it suffered. The rod is quite stout and a tad heavy, but not overly so, and the guides are functional looking, not my favorite but OK. One of the guides was wrapped a bit off center, but not enough to be a problem. I will update this when the rod gets fished, but for now it seems a good buy for the price. Made in China, but I don't think that's a big surprise to anyone. If you fish enough, you'll run into expenses getting the right gear, and sometimes it helps to be able to acquire a serviceable rod at a moderate price, which is exactly what this one looks to be. Review: The medium is heavier action than I thought - First off I now own 5 ugly stick poles, so I do really like them. The action of their pole is heavier than I thought it would be. Built very well, my only concern is will it be as sensitive andy others. As long as it can throw 3,4,5 oz weights far in to the surf I will be happy. Update to follow. ## Features - Ugly Tech Construction - Ugly Stik Clear Tip (select models) - Ugly Tuff Guides - Fuji Reel Seat - Durable Rubber Gimbal (select models) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B096GB6GBY | | Action | Fast | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #93,063 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #139 in Fishing Rods | | Brand | Ugly Stik | | Brand Name | Ugly Stik | | Color | Black/Red/Yellow | | Customer Reviews | 3.9 out of 5 stars 16 Reviews | | Fishing Rod Power | Medium | | Fishing Technique | Casting | | Grip Type | Full Wells | | Handle Material | Fiberglass,Graphite,Rubber,Stainless Steel | | Included Components | casting fishing rod | | Item Dimensions L x W | 63.39"L x 2.17"W | | Item Length | 10 feet | | Item Type Name | casting fishing rod | | Item Weight | 0.45 kg | | Line Weight | 12-30 lb | | Lure Weight | 2 ounces | | Manufacturer | Pure Fishing | | Manufacturer Part Number | BWDD1230C102 | | Model Name | BWDD1230C102 | | Model Number | BWDD1230C102 | | Number of Items | 8 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Rod Length | 10 feet | | Size | 10' - Medium - 12-30lb - 2pc | | Tension Supported | 30lb | | UPC | 043388473516 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Manufacturer Warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Ugly Stik - **Color:** Black/Red/Yellow - **Fishing Technique:** Casting - **Material:** Fiberglass, Graphite - **Number of Pieces:** 1 ## Images ![Ugly Stik Bigwater Casting Fishing Rod - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Ozer2tJdL.jpg) ![Ugly Stik Bigwater Casting Fishing Rod - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/619GRsDvCuL.jpg) ![Ugly Stik Bigwater Casting Fishing Rod - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51edEX-86aL.jpg) ![Ugly Stik Bigwater Casting Fishing Rod - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51WXbJ4hcKL.jpg) ![Ugly Stik Bigwater Casting Fishing Rod - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61x6CnkG1oL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this reel for baitcaster or spinning reel?** A: Since it's a casting rod it is a baitcaster. This is made for saltwater beach fishing. **Q: whats the action?** A: 10' ext hvy 30-60 pound line 6-12 oz lure. I use mine for oversize sturgeon up to 14'. **Q: This rod is for casting reels or spinning reels?** A: It's a casting rod. You'll want to look up model numbers from ugly stiks site for spinning. Typically BWS1100 series I believe. For some reason amazon isn't displaying any spinning rods from the big water series. If your close to a walmart you may wanna try there, they're always in stock at my local store. **Q: Whats the line rating for the 9 ft rod??** A: It's only 6-20lbs. Not what I was expecting but it doesn't tell u any ratings. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good value for the bucks *by S***7 on October 14, 2022* Well, it's a good thing these Ugly Sticks are tough rods because Amazon shipped this to me completely unprotected aside from a very flimsy oversized cardboard box which showed signs of being retaped enroute.
