Thanks.** A: Yes, it is the same as stainless. Matte simply refers to the "soft" - not shiny finish. We have had ours for a year and a half - use it almost daily and it looks as good as new. **Q: Does the matte finish scratch? Also, I'm wondering why the dimensions are different from the black and white models?** A: I have the black and stainless. I have had for 2 years and very little scratches. I'm very pleased - best manual wine opener. **Q: Is the bottle opener battery powered or electric?** A: It's neither battery nor electric powered but completely manual. I found it very easy to use. It is far better than all other manual bottle openers I have. **Q: What's the trick to using the foil cutter?** A: I never used the foil cutter. Sorry. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simplest and best corkscrew ever *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 16 September 2026* After 2 years solid use, I can confirm that this is the easiest and best corkscrew ever - and I have used a fair few. The reason for writing this review is because of the number of times friends and family, highly impressed by my bottle opening skills, have purchased their own. One family member, with arthritic fingers, no longer needs to cajole his wife into opening a bottle. He now spends more time in the shed where his backup cellar and backup Brabantia corkscrew now resides. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use and works perfectly! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 3 July 2026* I’m really pleased with this Brabantia corkscrew. It’s sooo sooo easy to use and works exactly as it should. You just place it on the wine bottle, twist clockwise and the cork comes out smoothly and effortlessly. No mess, no fuss. The corkscrew feels solid and well made, and best of all, has made opening a bottle of wine so easy. The foil cutter doesn’t seem to work but I honestly can’t fault the bottle opening process. Five stars from me.. I definitely recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brabanta classic spiral corkscrew *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 12 October 2026* As described. Good quality.
