Also I found a spray that neutralises the poo and pee smell and deters messing in the same place can work. In desperation I sprayed with the neutraliser then put cat pepper down so they didn't want to go to that area. Would definitely recommend! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ When you need a calming effect immediately *by R***. on 25 September 2026* I have particularly nervous cats and just moved house (and the area is noisier than my last place) after two days of solidly hiding - not even coming out to eat or drink, I knew I needed something drastic to help before it was going to be a trip to the vets. Within 10 mins of spraying this around my new bungalow, BOTH cats were out and about and daring to explore. It’s not a miracle cure, and almost two weeks later my cats are still wanting to hide all day and come out at night - but this spray definitely made a difference. The issue I have with the Feliway plug ins is that it takes a few days to properly diffuse the pheromones AND despite the fact that they sell refills, every single time you put a refill in it starts making a strong burning smell and has to be thrown away so they are only really a single use plug.
