Got all of this because had two buttons - the main power button & an AC power button - that had to be pushed one after another on a Power Bank inside a starwars HD-R2D2 droid that I did not want to open up all the time when I wanted to turn it on and off. SwitchBot works great & presses quickly when you finally figure out how to get the results that you want. Great with bluetooth connecting to the switchbot app. But of course you will be using the SwitchBot Hub Mini to have full versatility to give audio verbal commands. Works great if you then connect to Google because could use my Google Nest Mini to verbally give commands to "Turn On R2D2" and later to "Turn Off R2D2" - where google solved the trick where had to issue two commands in a single command automation to have two separate SwitchBot fingerbots to each separately one after another to first press the power button & then second press the AC button to then power up the AC power adapter plugged into the power bank to "Turn On R2D2". However, when using Alexa on an desertcart Echo, could not combine commands for the two fingerbots to have each specifically press the two different separate buttons in a single alexa command routine because the routine would only activate only one fingerbot to do both presses on only one button. I have a minisplit ac and need the "follow me" on the remote to stay enabled when making scheduled changes every other method i have tried including the units built in wifi app disables "follow me" when activating a scheduled task. As long as I choose to teach it the command from the remote rather than let it find and set up my entire remote, it learns to send the command taught with the "follow me" signal included and the remote tempature sensing stays enabled. I bout a over 125 mini split thermostat that couldn't accomplish this and had to be returned!! Definitely a work around but I feel like this product is designed to be a general purpose work around for people's issues! Love it. Exactly what I needed. Hope it stays as reliable as it has....no scheduled commands missed out of about 9 sent so far. Brilliant idea! πŸ‘ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars β€” Great for Clearing Remote Clutter, But Has Setup Flaws *by L***R on August 17, 2026* I've always wanted a gadget to replace my stack of remotes, and this hub is a great way to put everything right onto my phone. The coolest feature by far is using it with Alexa. Whenever I'm near my room, I can just tell Alexa to turn on my TV or DVD player. When you open the app for the first time, a little guy walks you through setup, which makes it pretty easy to get started. However, syncing remotes isn't as smooth as you'd hope. Even with popular brands, it often fails to recognize them on its own. You end up having to manually press every single button facing the IR sensor so it can learn them, which is a total pain. The sensor distance is really strict during setup, too. If you aren't holding the remote within 4 inches right in front of it, it loses connection and misses the button. Once you actually get it set up, there's only about a half-second delay on your phone, which isn't a big deal to me. Alexa integration is pretty basic, though. It can really only do simple stuff like turning devices on and off. It can't do specific actions by voice, like making a fan swivel or changing channels, unless you set up routines. My schedule is always changing, so setting up fixed routines is just annoying. I wish those extra actions just worked without extra setup. If Alexa can't do a specific function, you just have to open the app and tap the button yourself. Overall, the device itself is super compact and clean. It does a fantastic job cleaning up remotes lying around the room. For the price, the value is definitely there. Having one cheap device that controls your stuff from your phone is super convenient. Despite the annoying setup and basic voice controls, it’s still a good gadget to get rid of remote clutter.
