I was looking for an anthletic shoe that I could wear to the gym but also would hold up to multiple 5k skates. These shoes seem to fit the bill, they're very light, do not look ,like your typical skate shoe "moon boot", have a great arch support and the pads on the bottom seem much more sturdy than your typical running shoe; which I feared would be toast after a few skating sessions. Over all I'm happy and hope they stand up. As for DC's attention to detail the concerns written in other posts are correct.The shoes does wear a little snug so you may want to order a half size larger than you'd regularly wear. If you've bought DC's before though you prob know this.The DC insignia on the back is not white, it looks like it was put on prior to the shoe being sprayed blue so now the sign is more of a sky blue. Aside from that I'm a happy camper. Dhipping was super fast, Surf & Dirt has great customer service and I would def recommend working with them. Decent sneaker for a decent price, but the QA manager seems to have been sleeping on the job. ### ā­ā­ Definitely not for skating... *by S***K on Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2012* I bought these shoes expecting a nice hybrid shoe that I could skate in but also have all day comfort for walking, jogging, etc. The shoes arrived fast and looked amazing. They were so light. However, after taking a closer look at the shoe, I noticed some durability issues. The tread is made with that same aerofoam stuff that New Balance uses in their shoes(great for walking, but are not durable when it comes to scraping or dragging them on the ground or grip tape). If you look closely at the fabric on the shoe, you will notice that it is mesh(I was able to see the shadow of my finger through the mesh). I figured I'd still give them a try. I can honestly say I have only worn these shoes for 2 hours. Ten minutes into skating the shoe, I got a tear in the mesh. I wanted to give DC the benefit of the doubt, so I took off the shoe and stitched the hole. I then proceeded to skate the shoe for another 1.5 hours, at which point... Yup, you guessed it, another tear(keep in mind this was in a different spot, my stitch held fine from the first hole). All in all, I can say, this is a good shoe if and only if you are looking to wear a comfortable DC shoe to walk or jog in. I stitched the second hole and will be using these as my "junk" shoes for when I don't want my good shoes to get wet or ruined. I was gifted a pair of World Industries shoes for xmas last year and they are still holding up fine(I wear them every day). I can honestly say that I never would have thought a "cheap" skateboard company(world industries) could make a better shoe than a company dedicated to making skate shoes(dc). ### ā­ā­ā­ Hey DC where's the quality control! *by C***M on Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2012* I just got this "Fashion" sneakers with my other order of a pair of Columbias hikers, I got this shoes cause the only pair i had of "Fashion" sneakers separated from the sole and since i only buy hiking shoes because they are really tough specially Merrells and Columbias I decided to give it a go and try this DC lites cause they look nice and where 50% off; first of all they look great, they are made of good materials, they are comfortable, they are ultralight, even lighter then my Columbias!!! But after a good close look you start seeing the poorly finished sole, the colors of the sole look like they where painted by a 4 year old (Yes, the colors are painted)!!!! there are stains of paint all over the sole, horrible!!!, where's the quality control at DC's factory? are they on holiday?. I got the Columbias for the same price and they look impeccable; well let's hope they last, i usually don't wear this kind of shoes much, but i think i won't be buying DC's in a near future!P.S.
