Review: Clear and very good quality image. I recommend the next setting. - The monitor is worth the money. Pros: 1) The calibration out the box is awful. The key is calibrating the colors and settings correctly. Once you have done it, the colors are vivid, clear and overall very good quality. I use these settings and I would recommend them. Contrast: 70 Brightness: Between 20 and 30 DCR: 0 Important: Black stabilization. By default, comes adjusted in 5 (very brightness and washed out), but I recommend down until 1 or inclusive 0. This way, the blacks are very good and the image quality does not wash out. View mode: Standard Blue filter: 100 Sharpness: 25 R: 100 G: 92 B: 98 Obviously, you can adjust it to your preferences, but I think it reaches a great value gamma. 2) The monitor has no backlight bleeding. 3) The uniformity of the colors (Black, white, blue, etc.) are very good. 4) TV shows, movies and games look great in the screen. You can either see Netflix or play any games that the image is clear and nice 5) Unlike the other comments, the stand wobble a little when I press the buttons to configure the settings, but fortunately it has a “gum” that fits very well to the desk and is very secured and steady. Anyway, do not wait the best quality stand for the price. Cons: 1)Speakers: The sound it is not so good. Works properly, but if you want quality you must buy a speaker separately if you do not have it. Anyway, is not a big problem because several monitors have low-quality speakers. Directly, I don’t use them. Only as a final comment, the monitor has wide edges, it is not a problem, but reduce them would be a great improve to the design and style. It does not affect the functionality of the monitor. I give the monitor 5 stars because the ratio price/quality is positive and I would buy it again. For people that do not want to spend large amounts of money and seek good quality,148 pounds are perfect. I will update my review if any problem show up.
Review: A solid FreeSync monitor for gaming at 1080p - When purchasing a monitor, there is a lot of factors to consider, yet ViewSonic pleased me with their 24" TN FreeSync panel. A BIG Disclaimer: Viewsonic claim 75Hz Refresh Rate. This must be enabled in the Windows Display settings for this monitor to display the full 75Hz instead of the 60Hz Windows sets. Starting off with the panel, it is TN based, with strong colours present. I felt the Contrast on the monitor was perfect out of the box, although users have the freedom to blend colours more, or make them really pronounced. Brightness was something that I recommend to change as fast as possible. On my sample, Brightness was at 80%, but I feel comfortable/usable brightness was at 25%-35% depending on the time of day. After prolonged use with use periods extending beyond 2 hours, I feel the monitor's brightness was often turned down by me to better aid visibility in the dark. At that brightness, Blacks were deep and Whites were definitely white. I feel this monitor is superb in the colour department, as Reds, Greens and Blues were perfect. Viewing angles were quite good too, although the TH panel has it's limitations. I felt that a +/- 30° angle was fine and no perceivable colour loss was present. After 40°, the corners became difficult to see as the colours faded into black. At 60° most of the screen was fading into black, with 80° actually being completely black (albeit you could see the colour on whatever surface the monitor was facing). At 24", I do feel this is intended for a 1 person use, but if you are viewing movies with friends etc, then it might get cramped, unless you sit around 1m away, in which everyone should benefit from the better viewing angles (although text might be a bit small at 1m) The audio quality is quite good for a monitor in my opinion. It is clearly audible, although it seems to feel as the though the source of sound is behind the monitor, rather than on it. Because of this, you hear a hollow echo, although it is only noticeable if you listen out for it. The FreeSync technology kicks in somewhere between 40Hz and 75Hz, so the range is quite small, and thus, does not benefit from AMD's LFC support sadly. With FreeSync on however, the panel passes with flying colours, as games and media were silky smooth and no visible tears or jags were present. With V-Sync being required, some might be worried about the Input Lag caused, however with ViewSonic's "Low Input Mode", I felt it disappeared. Mind you, the input lag that was present was minimal, and non-persistent sometimes. One oddity I have passed on to DICE was Battlefield 1 had tearing, despite being well within the FreeSync range and having V-Sync on. As for the monitor itself, the frame is a mixture of glossy plastic at the front, with matte accents at the back. The stand is glossy, and does attract a decent amount of dust, however a quick wipe with a cloth suffices, as the gloss doesn't seem to cause much friction. The monitor is top heavy, despite a bulge being towards the bottom of the back panel, so transport is not difficult, merely cumbersome. As for the monitor's options, they are controlled by small buttons on the bottom right of the monitor. You can adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Audio, Colour Correction, and enable some features to deepen/brighten blacks for games that might benefit from them. One flaw of this monitor is the included connectors; I received an EU continental power plug, a UK power plug, a DVI, and a HDMI connector. In my opinion, a DisplayPort connector should have been included instead of the EU plug and the DVI, considering this model supports FreeSync. I felt I was paying for these extras, yet at the same time, this does mean I now have a spare HDMI and DVI if I ever need one. In conclusion, ViewSonic have done remarkably with the VX2456-mhd, and I feel it is definitely worth the competitive price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing monitor with one massive flaw
*by A***R on 7 February 2017*

For the price, this is an incredibly good purchase ! After a year of gaming on a 32 inch TV, I decided to purchase my first "proper" monitor... And after much deliberation I decided to get this one. Now the tv hasn't been used at all since receiving it. The colours do take a while to get right for my own personal viewing, but thats all personal preference, and the only thing I did to balance it out was remove the black optimisation. Clarity is actually impressive given the size and the fact it's only a 1080p monitor. Response time is so much faster however, and makes games like BF1 and horizon 3 much less... Ghosty... The reason for 4 stars then? The stand. Whoever designed the stand needs shooting. It's terrible. I'm hoping to eventually wall mount as a result of JUST how wobbly it is. Want to shoot someone in rage ? Brilliant, but the screen will move as you do it and make your aim shockingly bad. Tried everything, and nothings fixed it. But other than that, an incredibly good product for the price :)
