I had the Garmin on just to be safe - a bit of an insurance policy. Well, late one evening in a 5 mile deep swamp she chased after what must have been a deer. She went nearly about a mile deep in and I could track her the whole time. I chased after her but it was impassable. Watching the map I could see her begin to turn around and head back to me. I was also lost at this point except for the GPS. We reunited and made our way home. Maybe I would have gotten her back without the Garmin but the confidence it gave me is priceless.
