I use SoftScrub cleanser and a Scrub Daddy exclusively. There is a rinse grid at the bottom that needs removal prior to cleaning, so you will find yourself moving the colander and drying rack out of the way to get the rack out of the way. Uncertain about your referral to Drain Cover. The drain rack has a large hole at center right over the drain (and thus the disposer). Disposers will normally come with their own stopper. This is a great sink and I receive positive comments from anyone who uses it.
