It does the job but as with all Foscam products there are difficulties.Pros; It works well with Foscam cameras, even old ones.Cons;- It can only work with cameras that it can detect as the manual settings ability is limited.- Detection only works on wired cameras. Once added they can be moved to wifi though.- Remote operation and viewing is limited to Internet Explorer and possibly Safari.- USB storage is no longer supported in the firmware.- Downloding clips sends them only to the IE cache and in a corrupt mp4 format. Renaming the clip to .asf can get limited access.- Given its limitations, third party cameras must have a wired option, a settings interface and be detectable to stand a chance. This means higher-end ones so you might as well use Foscam's own, also flawed, cameras.In summary it's just about functional and much cheaper than running a dedicated pc 24/7 but in usability, compared to a pc with BlueIris or iSpy, it's a joke.

Really awful but better than other alternatives I have tried.Only mice are supported so you can’t configure cameras by typing the connection info you have to pick each character off an on screen keyboard.You could log in remotely but Foscam is incompatible with Safari, Chrome, Firefox and MS Edge on Mac and Ms Edge and Firefox on Windows 10 - so going around and around in circles re-installing plug-ins again and again-So back to configuring cameras one at a time using only a mouse.This is really bad for 1970s DOS apps ....

Does the job and no issues with setup.

Recorder start off ok with two 2mp Foscam cameras but soon realized that if the combined mp of the cameras exceeds around 6mp the live view starts to flicker on and off and eventually loses all camera settingsWhen I replaced the Foscam recorder with a Hikvision everything worked fine. When the live view dropped so did the recording lowering the camera mp setting did reduce the video loss somewhat, but defeats the purpose if you cannot identify the intruder

This was very difficult to use, installing the hard drive was a pain in the a*se and it was not compatible with a Onvif compliant CCTV camera that worked fine on a friend Dahua system (the camera was neither manufacturer)I sent it back
