Easy to use, Simple USB remote is nice
I put this directly on top of a 8" carbon filter (vertically oriented). So far, it seems to work as well as the Can Filter it replaced. It had what looked like a little black weight clipped to one of the fan blades, and it didn't come off when I gave it a light tug so I just left it there. So far it seems to be running well so I guess it was a weight put on to balance the blade.I like that the remote plugs into the unit via USB-C, and that the cable is ~10ft long. (I operate this in my bedroom from my bed, so that's perfect). If you need this to run any more complicated cycles than 10 ON 50 OFF, you'll want the more expensive control unit. For my purpose this is great. I'm using it to replace a Can Fan that I think was destroyed by a Speedster (doesn't want to turn on anymore).I like the EC motor that seems to be able to run reliably at low speed seeing as ALL fans this size and bigger are loud at full power (this fan isn't loud, but don't expect to sleep next to it at speed 4 or greater). It's mostly synthetic material with plastic fan blades, whereas the Can Fan was all metal, but it makes this fan considerably lighter than the Can, and if it's rated at 1/3 the power consumption it's saving me money. It seems to move as much air as the CanFan, so if it lasts at least as long I will be pleased. So far I'm happy.

Very nice fan!
Awesome fan that works in conjunction with the Bluetooth controller and app. Very quiet at low to mid, and kid to high is noticeable, but not what I'd call loud.

Good in-line exhaust
Works great. Used it to exhaust from a closed room with timer function

Very solid and quiet
Well made, excellent controls for price. Remote is tiny but works. Installed in attic duct to help central A/C air flow. Spare parts are not available but Customer Service is excellent. Replaced missing controller (the size of a thumb drive) with entire new unit.

Highly recommend for automation!!
This bad boy is perfect for my 2 x 4 tent. At its lower levels, it's enough to circulate all the air in the tent while making almost no noise. Whereas, when it's at the higher levels, it's kinda loud, I'm not gonna lie, BUT it's doing one hell of a good job and no smell is escaping from that tent. Now, for the controller, it is nice and makes the tent look (for lack of a better word) cool. I have not messed with it manually too much, so I cannot speak of that. However, the app that connects to the controller is SO easy to use and comes with preset configurations for everything in your tent (lights, fan, duct fan, humidifier, etc..) based on what stage of growth your plants are at. The controller doesn't connect to everything, but it should connect to most name-brand lights (look for ones that daisy chain with an Ethernet cord, as this is what the Vivosun controller uses). My only gripe with this product is that the controller is very dim. It's slightly better than a Game Boy in that you have to hold it perfectly in light to see the display. Otherwise, I highly recommend this if you're looking to automate some of your gardening.

Cigar room exhaust fan
So far, so good with the exhaust fan, has been working great in the attic. I don’t know what it’s gonna do on a really hot day. But so far it’s been amazing as a cigar room exhaust.

The duct fan i got doesn't work
I got this just for the smart controller it was the same price during the black Friday sale as the controller itself. So I said mind as well but the controller and duct fan. I opened the package and looked at the instructions list for all the parts that should be in the box.Now I don't need the duct fan but for space in the area I placed this fan inside the grow tent. as for the parts I was missing a connector that plugs into the smart controller that gets hooked up to AC power outlet. So I started tinkering around and pulled out the duct fan and noticed a usb-c hook up i plugged that in and the controller powered up.Now for my issue!!! I plugged everything in zip tied the wires to the frame of the grow tent and the smart controller said the fan was on level 1. I reached up to feel if air was moving through the fan!! this was not the case so I started to pull the duct fan down cutting all zip ties. I get the fan out plug it into the outlet and boom fan fires up I plug in the smart controller adjust the fan level to 10 plug it in again to the outlet and nothing happens. I can hear the compactor clicking so I know power is getting to the fan it just doesn't work hooked up to the smart controller. So I take the controller off of the fan via usb-c hook up. plug the fan in again and now it doesn't even turn on without the smart controller! I now have it taken apart looking for where this issue is think there is an issue with the motherboard or the compactors attached to the motherboard. probably going to return and see if I can get a replacement.
