I love this thing! I've had it for two years. It came in a big protective box and smelled lovely when I opened it. It's got a deep bass sound and a solid snare. When I first got it the tune was a little off but that wasn't an issue because tuning it was very simple. I love the look, the sound and the way it feels. A general great cajon and definitely my favorite. I'm not gonna lie, I've dropped this thing, banged on it as hard as I could and even stood and jumped off it it, this thing is rock solid for the low price it sells for. Definitely would recommend for acoustic songs or just jamming in general.

I have been playing cajon for the past 10 years mainly to collaborate with singer / song writers and acoustic / unplugged set up. I have tried Meinl, Schlagwerk, and other higher end cajons. All the positive reviews on this cajon are accurate; this has got to be the best bass and snare separation I have ever had out of the box. I like the more compact package because I don't have to be in an uncomfortable positions especially playing 3 sets of music. If you've gigged on cajons before, you know, back pain sets in after 2-3 hours. This is the most cost effective and best sound I have ever gotten from a cajon. The cajon looked a bit smaller than the regular size with not much room for my butt, but it was accurate dimensions as described. And the 'slimmer' dimensions were to make it more portable - which is a good thing in the end. After I played it a bit - wow! This has got to be one of the most easy to play cajons ever - my fingers and palms just seems to roll across effortlessly and the tone was also very good - very crisp distinction between snare and bass tones, no muddle. Worth the higher price than the Meinl Hardliner. The seller was prompt in replying to my initial inquiry and made sure the product got to me almost 7 days before estimated date, as I needed it in a hurry - excellent work on the seller's part!

Love this drum box! Reviews for other similar cajons talk about the importance of "tuning" or adjusting the "wires" inside the box until the sound is fine tuned for you taste. Well, this product is pre-tuned and ready to go right out of the box and it sounds great! As a drummer from my junior high and high school days, it is really fun creating a drum set sound by hitting different areas of the box for bass and snare. You will find you can get an infinite number of additional sounds by trying other areas of the box as well. Wanted to get a carrying bag for it, but saved money by just buying the proper-sized canvas bag from Amazon, rather than getting a bag that is marketed specifically as a cajon bag.
