When using the hex nut you don't need extra tools to hold the hex nut in place while you tighten bolt. It will stop turning once tighten. Each part is numbered and the bolts to use in each step has a letter. Read instructions all the way through to familiarize yourself with the parts and steps. The number 8 rails has a soft side and a slick side. Its not on the instructions. I put the soft side up so the cross rails wouldn't slide. The frame is lightweight and built sturdy. The legs have caps on the end. I'm very pleased with the price, the quality, and how easy to put together. I recommend this product.
