It performed flawlessly. The build quality is good, and it came with a padded case and manual. The transmitter attaches to my camera hot shoe and requires 2 AA batteries. It can easily be adjusted in the vertical or horizontal positions. The receiver attaches to my flash and also requires 2 AA batteries. The signal can be transmitted over one or all of up to 8 channels, making it flexible if multiple units are used; I just tested it on ALL and then individual channels. For my test, I set up my Nikon DSLR for remote shutter release (not required, but I often use the remote release as well as delayed time release when camera shake is to be minimized) as well as on-camera shutter button release. I set my camera and flash to manual, turned each component on and fired away. Perfect performance! I intend to use this setup for macro and closeup work, and for fill light in some normal shots when the flash is best positioned away from the camera. This will replace the awkward flash-to-camera cable I have been using. So far, I'm well pleased. In every way but the labeling it appeared identical. In person, it is the same, and function appears to be identical as well, but there is something different such that they are not compatible. I returned it since it wouldn't suit my needs.
