I've had both shoulders replaced recently and have been going to PT to get my strength and range of motion back in my shoulders. But, I still want to cruise so I needed a stretching bar that could easily be packed in my luggage. The fact that this breaks down into 4 shorter segments makes it perfect for taking along in my suitcase and it doesn't add much additional weight to my luggage. Another aspect to the multiple sections - I'm just over 5 ft in height so my arms are short as well. I don't need the full length of this tool to do my stretches and it's super easy to shorten it. However, I do have the ability to lengthen it if I need the extra length or if someone with much longer arms needs to borrow it, they have the ability to lengthen it.
