As the millage and scope for many cases in Cabot Cove diminished the writers had the wisdom to move things more to New York and elsewhere.The premise being that a business often a family one has problems and that murder results.More often than not a friend is in the frame and Jessica Fletcher has to use her deductive powers to save the day.There are a few reminders of the glory days of Cabot Cove as in episode 18 Sheriff Metzger is as usual totally foxed,Dr Hazlett is blowing his top while Jessica's nephew Grady is as naive as ever.Angela Lansbury plays the lead role with considerable aplomb and it is down to her and the galaxy of fine US TV actors that Murder She Wrote endured for so long.You really have the cream of the small-screen acting profession in season 11 and no mistake.Jessica is a latter day Agatha Christie offshoot and the lazy screenplay writers do rehash Christie's plots with alarming regularity.But that said new locations,characters and scenarios do help keep excess staleness at bay.Even if the business & family rivalries in glamorous contexts do seem more Dallas & Dynasty than Miss Marple.Sometimes one is reminded of the US adaptation of Sparkling Cyanide which seemed like an episode of Dallas if Agatha Christie had been doing screenplays for Hagman & co.Amazon are selling this pleasant series of Murder She Wrote for a very good price and if you love a good mystery from TV's comfort zone then this is for you ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In Which Jessica Travels Far and Wide.... *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 August 2017* The penultimate Season (11) of T.V.s' Murder She Wrote with Angela Lansbury, playing the deceptively mild mannered mystery writer and amateur sleuth Jessica Fletcher, does not disappoint. This Season has 21 episodes over 6 discs, presented in a smart case, with 940 minutes of viewing time. Picture quality is very good. A plethora of guest stars in this Season joining Jessica on her travels - never recommended as murder always follows her - as she travels from Cabot Cove as far as Martinique. All good yarns, relaxing viewing and great fun. Recommended for fans of the T.V. series and anyone who enjoys a gentle, well constructed murder mystery with humour and heart and a very likeable protagonist in Jessica. The Region 1 set of the eleventh season included two Season 12 episodes as bonus features.
